Space is a premium here on the East End and SYS has become an invaluable resource for community organizations and nonprofits.
SYS was created only with support from our community. A walk through our lobby highlights the plaques of familes, area businesses and foundations who believed in our vision of a safe place to play, dream, grow & learn.
Our doors are open for anyone in the community, for recreation and meeting space.
Area nonprofits use the facility for meeting space or a home away from home. IGHL (Independent Group Home Living) hosts a dayhab program weekdays, Weight Watchers meets weekly at SYS, and the Southampton Youth Bureau hosts teen nights.
Teams from area schools train at SYS. Area Schools also use SYS for their Field Days, a day of activity and celebration for students. Adult leagues play at SYS. Our soccer evening programss fill the building. Basketball and even bocce teams use SYS.
SYS is also home to many community fundraisers such as The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, the Association for the Help of Retarded Children's (AHRC) 5K Run, & AHRC's Special Olympics.
